Kalle CZ s.r.o. specializes in the manufacture of viscose, plastic and fabric packaging of butcher products. Kalle CZ s.r.o. is a subsidiary of the Kalle Group headquartered in Germany, with branches all over the world. In 2000, a new and modern shop floor was developed in the Czech Republic where a part of total production was transferred from Germany. Apart from a production program with Germany as the target country, Kalle CZ supplies its products also to food-processing companies in the Czech Republic.
Before 2001, Kalle CZ did not use any unified information system, all records were kept in programs of the Microsoft Office family (MS Word, MS Excel). Data were not shared in any way, identical information had to be generated repeatedly and were available in a paper format only. In order to allow further growth, the company had to introduce an integrated ERP system. Kalle CZ chose TWIST INSPIRE ERP which perfectly met all its needs.
Objectives:
TWIST INSPIRE’s implementation was to address primarily the areas below:
- material and service purchase for the purpose of own production;
- keeping of records of materials and finished products for wage labor;
- automation of stock management;
- selling of own products;
- automation of accounting operations and reporting;
- production management;
- reporting to the parent company of Kalle GMBH.
Implementation:
TWIST INSPIRE’s implementation in Kalle CZ is a good example of gradually planned project. The implementation was divided into three stages. Firstly, the business and stock sections were put in operation. It was required to build a link to the SAP system used by the parent company in Germany. In the second stage, the accounting system had to be launched, with the function of automated recording of all movements in materials, semi-finished and finished products. During the second stage, the register of Price Calculation of Products was put together in order to ensure an exact and substantiated product pricing. In the last stage, the module of Customized Production was developed and integrated into the system. The information system has been in operation since August 1, 2001.
